This class has a little bit of everything to get your booty in shape and lift your spirits. Workout to great music that will get you groovin’ through specific, targeted exercises designed to tone, lift and strengthen your thighs, glutes and abs. We’ll use stationary, isolated exercises to burn calories and plyometrics to increase cardiovascular capacity and challenge muscles. Athletic shoes, towel and/or yoga mat recommended.
Jules "Lady Jules" Urich Bio
Julie “Lady Jules” Urich grew up in Boulder, Colorado, where as a child she excelled in competitive gymnastics. Urich started with a career as a professional dancer for Rennie Harris Puremovement in the 1990's, and later became a member of the all-female dance group Beat Freaks, who spent their on-air time encouraging young girls to dance and follow their dreams. Urich’s experience dancing in movies, commercials, and music videos has lauded her as one of the most decorated female Break Dancers in the world.
Under mentor and teacher Crazy Legs Urich went on to win a venerable Spy Award. Lady Jules is the one who made the first headspin ever from a lady in the fourth episode of America's Best Dance Crew. In early 2010, Beat Freaks collaborated with Nike Women and have been heavily featured in the Nike Women website. She appeared on America's Best Dance Crew with the '"Beat Freaks", the Oprah Winfrey show and performed alongside Madonna and Sarah Jessica Parker on consecutive Gap campaigns. She has also performed on some of the world's most prestigious stages such as the Victory Theater on Broadway, The Kennedy Center in Washington D.C., and the Spoleto festival in Spoleto, Italy. Urich kicked off her acting career, and starred as the lead in the feature film, B-Girl (2009) alongside Wesley Jonathan, Drew Sidora, and Aimee Garcia. Some of Jules other film credits include Step-Up 3-D, Step-Up 2, You Got Served, and Disaster Movie. She has been featured in commercial campaigns for Coke, iPod, Wal-Mart, Gap, Nike, and Jolly Rancher, and has performed alongside such artists as the Roots, Miley Cyrus, Jennifer Lopez, Christina Aguilera, Pink, Madonna, Missy Elliot, Run-DMC , and LL Cool J. Some commercials she has been featured in include Wal-Mart, GAP, Nike and Jolly Rancher.
She is one of the original members of Groovaloos and a part of the stage show is based on her life. Urich appeared with the Beat Freaks in three music videos: Diddy's "Love Come Down" in 2009, Justin Bieber's "Somebody to Love" in 2010, and Australian dance crew/rappers and singers Justice Crew's Dance With Me fFt Flo Rida in 2011. In 2013 Jules left LA for her hometown Colorado to start a family and teach the new generation the foundation of Breaking. She now resides in Boulder County with her Fiancé, Ian, and daughter Isabella.
